This test assesses the proficiency of a PC (desktop) technician in installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading PCs running the Windows operating system (Windows 10) on a network. It covers knowledge of personal computer hardware and peripherals, operating systems, network design, protocols, and security. It includes diagnosing and troubleshooting PC and network problems in addition to preventive maintenance activities. This is a test for general support, mostly what is handled by a Tier 1 help desk. The Secure Evaluation Mode and Remote versions of this test will contain a minimum of 36 questions and will require a typical time of 43 minutes. The Secure Interview Mode and QwikChek versions will provide as many questions as the test taker can answer within an approximate 26 minute time limit.
