ITEC Corporation (led by President Mitsuhiro Oikawa, Phone: 03-3524-7981), which provides personnel education and training services in the IT (information technology) field, will initiate IT professionals talent diagnosing service effective in March this year. Using this new service, enterprises will be able to efficiently and accurately select and allocate professional staff and other human resources required for system development. ITEC aims to attain annual revenues of 500 million yen two years hence. The corporation has signed with TeckChek (in New Jersey, U.S.A.) a license agreement for exclusive marketing of TeckChek products and services in Japan. TeckChek carries on its business not only in U.S. but also in U.K., France and other countries. They say that approx. one million students have so far received its education and training services in the past 20 years and that one thousand companies such as Yahoo have utilized TeckChek products and services. The assessment system measures IT professionals’ skill and capability based on 250 different topics and by software and system used by students. Each test taker’s proficiency level is compared with all worldwide examinees’ data, based on which he/she is positioned at a specific rank among 100 ranks.

Whereas a majority of the existing skill assessment systems are comprised of skills tests with limited focus on specific systems, the ITEC system is capable of evaluating IT professionals’ talent, whatever system may be used by them. It is emphasized that the new system will enable enterprises to more easily, efficiently and accurately measure and specify the number of professional staff as well as the level of skills required for individual development projects.
